Short description

The compact agricultural machinery sector is dominated by combustion-engine vehicles that are unsuitable for indoor environments, confined spaces, and increasingly stringent ESG regulations. Winegrowers, vegetable growers, and public green space managers operate with fleets of machinery that are obsolete, expensive, and impossible to certify as environmentally friendly. E:DEN responds with eBacco, the first 100% electric CMT (Compact Multi-Purpose Tractor): a single vehicle that replaces 4–6 traditional vertical machines, capable of operating indoors and outdoors, silent, with zero direct emissions, and featuring integrated ADAS and native on-board sensing. The distinguishing feature isn’t the hardware—it’s the data platform. Each eBacco collects agronomic and operational telemetry in the field, which feeds into Natura Cloud, the SaaS layer that generates certifiable ESG reports, enables predictive maintenance, and provides access to the carbon credit market. The competitive advantage is structural: after 2–3 growing seasons, the customer has accumulated an irreplaceable wealth of data on Natura Cloud, which optimizes their operations, saving them both time and money. The goal is to become the leading European platform for biodiversity and sustainability certification in compact agriculture.

Business & Revenue Model

  • Primary target customer: mid-sized winegrowers, estates of 10–50 hectares in premium DOC/DOCG appellations (Bolgheri, Barolo, Chianti, Franciacorta)
  • Customer demands: ESG certification without sacrificing operational efficiency
  • Secondary customers: public entities subject to CAM requirements, contractors with medium-sized fleets
  • Willingness to pay: eBacco reduces total costs over 3–5 years compared to traditional vehicle fleets
  • Access to incentives: Agriculture 4.0 tax credit (40%)
  • Added value: certifiable data essential for PSR tenders, premium retail chains, and CSRD regulations with zero effort
  • Three-tier revenue model:
    • Hardware: eBacco sales with interchangeable accessories
    • SaaS Natura Cloud: Basic plan included with the vehicle, annual Professional plan
    • Data monetization: carbon credits and organic certifications (under development)
  • Strategy: land & expand with a target of 30-40% conversion to the Professional plan within five years
  • Production: fully outsourced (asset-light, scalable)
  • Average hardware ticket: €8.5K
  • Expected gross margin: 30-35%

Traction

  • Awards: Finalist in Digithon 2025
  • Awards: First place in the NBFC Upskilling Program 2025
  • LOIs signed: Pellenc Italia (agricultural sector), Toyota Material Handling (logistics sector)
  • Contracts in the final stages: leading manufacturers of specialized agricultural equipment (strengthening the accessories ecosystem)
  • eBacco MVP: expected to be finalized in April 2026
  • Natura Cloud MVP: expected to be finalized in June 2026
  • Sales pipeline: actively being built
  • Qualified leads: operators in the wine industry and green space management (development phase)

Social/environmental issue and impact

Problem:

Agricultural mechanization and urban green space management still rely almost entirely on internal combustion engines, which generate three concrete and measurable problems: emissions, noise, and vibrations. Internal combustion engines account for approximately 4.2% of total emissions in the European agricultural sector; operational noise levels consistently exceed 85 dB(A), the threshold beyond which the risk of occupational hearing loss arises; vibrations transmitted to the operator exceed the limits set by Directive 2002/44/EC, and are linked to spinal disorders in 58% of workers exposed for over ten years.

Impact:

  • Zero local emissions with an estimated savings of 2.8–4.5 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent per machine per year
  • Noise levels below 68 dB(A)
  • Vibrations below 0.35 m/s² RMS
  • Elimination of three critical environmental and occupational safety issues
  • Alignment with the objectives of the European Green Deal (55% emissions reduction by 2030)
  • Compliance with CSRD and CAM regulations
  • Directly enabling tool for compliance by agricultural businesses and public entities
  • Reduced risk of occupational hearing loss
  • Elimination of exposure to spinal disorders
