EDEN – eBACCO

Eden is an Italian startup focused on sustainable agricultural mechanization, founded with the goal of revolutionizing farm work through eBacco, a fully electric Compact Multifunction Tractor (CMT).

The project stems from a desire to address a problem: the machinery currently in use in agriculture has an average age of over 27 years and is responsible for 60% of fatal accidents in the sector (source: INAIL). Vibrations, noise, and fumes emitted by obsolete equipment put operators’ health at risk on a daily basis, in addition to causing inefficiencies, high fuel consumption, and the inability to work in enclosed spaces.

Eden responds to this scenario with a quiet, intuitive, and digital electric vehicle: a new standard for light agriculture, viticulture, landscape maintenance, forestry, advanced gardening, and urban projects.

The vision: simple, people-centered, and sustainable Agriculture 4.0

eBacco is designed to be a natural extension of the operator’s body: a compact tractor that combines ergonomics, intuitive control, and smart technologies.
Eden’s vision is of a form of agriculture:

  • safer, thanks to the absence of vibrations, fumes, and emissions
  • more efficient, with less maintenance and greater autonomy;
  • more user-friendly, with tools that are easy to use and accessible even to less experienced operators;
  • more digital, thanks to the collection and analysis of operational data.

A bridge between agricultural tradition and innovation, where technology serves as a tool, not an obstacle.

The solution: eBacco, the multifunctional electric TMC

Compact, electric, connected, versatile: eBacco is one of the most practical and promising innovations in modern agricultural machinery.

Key technical features

  • Zero emissions, quiet, and suitable for indoor use
  • Patented dual-drive system for precise and safe movement
  • Replaceable battery with over 8 hours of runtime and quick-change capability in just a few seconds
  • Universal attachment compatible with major tools
    Smart control and real-time diagnostics
  • Work maps, assisted guidance, and integration with DSS systems
  • Over 30 applications for indoor and outdoor use (vegetable gardens, vineyards, forestry, protected areas, urban emergencies)

The all-electric architecture enables eBacco to collect and provide operational data that helps optimize energy consumption, soil management, and the planning of agricultural activities.

Beyond the Car: A Digital Platform for the Community

Eden offers not just a tool, but an integrated platform:

  • AI-Powered Fleet Management
Fleet optimization, real-time tracking, and reduced operating costs.
  • Smart Leasing
A modular system that uses AI to offer personalized leasing solutions.
  • Biodiversity Monitoring
A digital repository for documenting and validating environmental data collected during fieldwork.

This hardware-software synergy makes Eden a pioneering player in the emerging category of smart microtractors.

Market: a rapidly growing €9 billion industry

The global market for multifunctional agricultural vehicles under 20 kW is valued at approximately €9 billion (TAM), with a CAGR of 5% through 2030, driven by:

  • PNRR, Green Deal, and Incentives for Electric Vehicles
  • energy transition,
  • increasingly stringent requirements regarding noise, emissions, and safety.

The European SAM amounts to 1.5 billion, with a SOM of 15 million euros in the target sectors (viticulture, horticulture, advanced gardening, civil protection)

Traction and Awards

Eden has already received significant recognition:

  • Finalist in the NBFC Upskilling competition, with a €30,000 prize
  • Finalist in the StarCup Toscana
  • Finalist in DigithON 2025
  • Expressions of interest from Pellenc Srl and Toyota Material
  • Handling Srl
  • Selected as one of the top ideas in the NBFC program chaired by Deloitte

These achievements confirm the project’s significance and its strong market potential.

The team’s previous collaborations include projects with leading international brands.

Why Eden is a transformative project

Eden tackles four challenges simultaneously—challenges often overlooked by traditional agritech:

  • Operator health: eliminates vibrations, noise, and emissions.
  • Sustainability: zero emissions, data integration for soil protection.
  • Productivity: greater maneuverability, longer range, less maintenance.
  • True digitalization: data, maps, fleet management, and AI.

In an industry where the average age of vehicles is nearly 30 years, eBacco represents a paradigm shift: a compact, intelligent, electric, sustainable, and above all, human-centered machine.
